Philadelphia’s popular winter traditions at Dilworth Park have returned for the 2020 holiday and winter seasons. The premiere exhibits that are returning include Wintergarden on the Greenfield Lawn, the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink, Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market, and Deck the Hall Holiday Lights. To ensure the safety of all guests and staff, each attraction is strictly adhering to CDC guidelines including a mandatory mask wearing policy, socially distanced seating, layouts to increase open air areas, and increased contactless purchasing opportunities. The winter attractions have opened in careful stages starting with the Wintergarden on the Greenfield Lawn. Below is a list of the various Dilworth Park winter exhibits, their scheduled run times, and more information regarding each attraction.
WINTERGARDEN ON THE GREENFIELD LAWN
October 30th – February 28th
The Wintergarden is an open-air wonderland of lights, which is free and open for all to enjoy. Its unique setting of topiaries and rustic decor facilitates relaxing strolls and sets the perfect backdrop for breathe-taking photo-ops. For guests over the age of 21, adult beverages are available including warm mulled wine at the Chaddsford Winery Kiosk and seasonal brews from Conshohocken Brewing Company.
Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink
November 6th – February 28th
With winter-inspired foliage and dangling lights, The Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink and the neighboring Rothman Orthopaedics Cabin are the perfect winter attractions for ushering in the joyous season. Enjoy 90 minute skate sessions on the ice rink, seasonal cocktails, premiere beer selections, and comfort food classics. Ice skating tickets can be purchased online or done in-person based on availability. Storage lockers are also available for rent. All of the Rothman Orthopaedics attractions feature open-air layout and limited capacity to ensure guests’ health and safety.
Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market
November 23rd – January 1st
Support local small businesses by browsing and buying handmade arts, crafts, and treats! A variety of returning and new vendors have set-ups spread throughout Dilworth Park. With a new layout to facilitate social distancing, guests have plenty of space to shop safely.
Deck the Hall Holiday Lights
November 23rd – January 1st
The Deck the Hall Holiday Lights has been newly redesigned to feature festive projections on the west façade of City Hall, which are running on a 30 minute loop and without musical accompaniment. The adaptation has been made to reinforce social distancing protocols by allowing guests to enjoy the show at leisure without drawing large crowds. Messaging reminds guests to adhere to current safety guidelines, including mask wearing and social distancing. The show runs Sunday through Thursday from 5 pm to 9 pm and Friday and Saturday from 5 pm to 11 pm.
