Gloucester City, NJ (April 9, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car crash that took place on a major roadway in Gloucester City on Saturday afternoon, April 9.
According to New Jersey State Police, the accident happened around 2:12 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-76 around the area of the Walt Whitman Bridge. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they became involved in a chain-reaction collision that led to extensive damages. One of the vehicles got turned around in traffic as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries in the accident. The parties were taken to local hospitals by ambulance.
Three lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for some time. This led to delays until police were able to clear the scene.
