Jersey City, NJ (May 15, 2023) – According to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, police are looking into a fatal collision that occurred in Jersey City early Monday morning, May 15.
The accident reportedly took place around 2:30 a.m. on Monday morning. The intersection of Kennedy Boulevard and St. Pauls Avenue was closed due to the accident, per officers from the Jersey City Police Department.
Authorities said that cops located a totally engulfed vehicle on the northern shoulder of the highway. The driver, a man in his twenties from Jersey City, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. It’s unclear if any other victims were hurt in the incident.
It was initially unclear what caused the collision, though the investigation into the accident remains ongoing at this time. Any witnesses to the crash were asked to contact the Jersey City PD immediately.
