Medford, NJ (January 21, 2022) – Burlington County officials confirmed that a woman was killed in a fatal house fire in Medford on Thursday evening, January 20.
Officials confirmed that the fire happened in a home on Taunton Boulevard. Fire crews arrived at the scene after they received calls about smoke and fire pouring out of a two-story home. When they arrived at the scene, they started to put out the fire but it took an hour or so to get it completely under control. The house was severely damaged as a result.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. When fire crews were able to get inside, the found a woman on the second floor of the home. The woman, identified as a 74-year-old who lived in the home, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The area was blocked off for an extended period of time as fire crews worked to bring the fire under control.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
