Philadelphia, PA (April 23, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from a car accident that took place on a highway in Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon, April 23.
According to Philadelphia Police, the accident happened around 3:22 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-676 around the area of Broad Street and 22nd Street. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing them to collide with one another. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hurt as a result of the accident. The injured parties were hospitalized with unknown injuries.
The roadway was blocked in several westbound lanes. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could resume as normal.
