Philadelphia, PA (February 12, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car crash that took place on a major highway in Philadelphia on Saturday evening, February 12.
According to officers with the Philadelphia Police Department, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of Route 1 around the area of Bridge Street and the New Jersey state line. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more allegedly lost control, causing a forceful collision between the vehicles. The involved vehicles had to be towed from the scene due to heavy damages.
Numerous responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their identities and conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked in multiple lanes for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
