Philadelphia, PA (June 19, 2023) – An accident on North Broad Street in Philadelphia late Sunday night injured at least three individuals, including two people waiting for a SEPTA bus and three children in passing vehicles.
Broad Street was completely blocked at Erie Avenue after the crash, which took place at roughly 11:30 p.m.
Philadelphia police accident investigators say two vehicles collided, and the crash’s impact sent one of the drivers into a neighboring bus stop. Two people waiting for a SEPTA bus were hit while waiting there, one suffering severe injuries and the other sustaining only minor wounds.
All four occupants of that vehicle were sent to the hospital, including a 22-year-old female driver, a 17-year-old female passenger, a 6-year-old female child passenger, and a 5-year-old male child passenger.
The investigation into what led to the incident resumed on Monday as police looked for leads. No immediate charges were filed, though the investigation remains active.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their loved ones now.
