Somers Point, NJ (March 24, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a two-vehicle collision that took place on a roadway in Somers Point on Wednesday evening, March 23.
According to Somers Point Police, the accident happened around 5 p.m. on Mays Landing Road. Police confirmed that a vehicle was traveling in the area when it allegedly traveled over into the other lane of traffic. This caused the two vehicles to forcefully collide with each other, leading to extensive damages in front of the Greate Bay Fitness Center.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person was trapped inside their vehicle and could not get the door open. The driver was rescued from their vehicle by fire crews. Police confirmed that the driver was taken to the hospital for treatment, though their condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
