Collingswood, NJ (March 10, 2022) – One person was killed in a fatal tractor-trailer collision that took place in Collingswood on Thursday, March 10.
According to local officials, the accident happened around 1:30 a.m. on the Trenton Boulevard ramp to White Horse Pike. A tractor-trailer was traveling in the area when it suddenly collided with a smaller passenger vehicle due to reasons that are not entirely known. The vehicles struck poles and the passenger vehicle went down an embankment.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person was trapped in the passenger vehicle and had to be freed by fire crews. The victim was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to their injuries.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked in the area for several hours. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could resume as normal.
