Elmwood Park, NJ (May 4, 2024) – A crash allegedly involving a drunken driver and eight other cars in Elmwood Park on Friday evening left one driver trapped and a trail of damage on roads and sidewalks at the intersection of Mola Boulevard and Godwin Avenue.
The crash caused severe damage to vehicles, with car parts strewn on the road and cars pushed against each other, authorities said. Police arrested a 29-year-old Elmwood Park man and charged him with driving while intoxicated.
At approximately 5:50 p.m., the Elmwood Park Police Department received multiple 911 calls regarding a major motor vehicle accident, per Michael Foligno, Elmwood Park’s police chief. At least two people were hospitalized as a result of the incident, but no further details were released about the victims. An investigation is still ongoing at this time.
