Englewood, NJ (May 27, 2024) – According to officers with the Englewood Police Department, a 26-year-old man from Englewood died following a motorcycle crash involving at least one other motorist on Friday, May 24.
Police say the man suffered life-threatening injuries during the accident, which occurred near the intersection of North Dean Street and Concord Street. Authorities confirmed on Sunday that the victim was pronounced dead at a hospital, but it’s unclear if the driver involved, who was operating a passenger sedan at the time of the collision, was hurt. It’s also unknown if citations or charges are pending for the motorist. Witnesses were requested to contact the Englewood PD as they continue to handle the ongoing inquiry.
We extend our deepest condolences to the deceased man’s family.
Motorcycle Accidents in New Jersey
Motorcycle accidents are widely recognized as among the most dangerous types of traffic crashes in New Jersey. One reason is that motorcyclists are more vulnerable to fatal injury or death due to the lack of protective gear they often wear. To make matters worse, official statistics on fatal motorcycle crashes show that such accidents and the fatalities that result from them are on the rise. For example, in 2020, there were 77 motorcycle accidents resulting in 78 deaths, compared to a considerable increase in 2021 of 97 crashes and 99 fatalities. A fatal crash can happen in the blink of an eye if a driver isn’t paying attention and keeping their vehicle under control. For these reasons and more, if a tragic motorcycle accident has affected your life, it’s essential to consult a lawyer who puts you first.
