Erie, PA (August 19, 2023) – Emergency responders and local officers were dispatched to the site of a two-car accident and apparent head-on collision late Friday evening, August 18, on the east side of Erie, close to McClelland Park.
The incident apparently took place at the intersection of McClelland Avenue and East 26th Street, and the first emergency calls were fielded shortly before 10:45 p.m. on Friday night. Authorities say that two drivers collided in the area, resulting in one of the vehicles flipping over onto its roof.
Several ambulances were sent in order to transport multiple injured victims to a nearby hospital. However, the victims’ current conditions remain unknown.
Police continue to investigate and have not released additional details in the interim.
We extend our thoughts to the injured victims and their loved ones at this time.
Injury-Causing Vehicle Wrecks in Pennsylvania
Traffic analysts say at least a thousand victims in Pennsylvania were killed or seriously wounded in traffic accidents over the last year alone. And while many victims were impacted throughout the state, these numbers underscore the disproportionate concentration of fatalities in and around Philadelphia and other major metropolitan areas.
Tragic incidents on American roads and highways are, unfortunately, always a possibility. Distracted driving, speeding, DUI, and other forms of irresponsible driving are serious issues in Pennsylvania, as they are around the country.
After a car collision that leaves you injured or causes the loss of a loved one, you may be wondering what to do next. As if the shock of an accident and the pain of injuries weren’t enough, you may also have to pay for things like medical treatment, vehicle repairs, missed earnings, and more on your own.
Victims should hire legal representation so that they may focus on getting better while still pursuing justice and the financial recompense they deserve for their losses and damages. A qualified accident attorney can help you collect the proof you need to support your claim and make sure you don’t miss any filing deadlines. Having experienced and empathetic legal representation on your side after an automobile accident is crucial.
