Franklin Township, NJ (August 24, 2024) – Police say that on Wednesday, August 21, at approximately 4:10 p.m., a driver struck and killed a man while traveling westbound on Hamilton Avenue near the intersection with Donald Drive.
Officers say a 63-year-old man from Hamilton was walking his dog on the westbound side of Hamilton when he was hit. The preliminary investigation appears to indicate the victim was attempting to cross Hamilton Avenue when it was struck by a car under circumstances that are still being inquired by local law enforcement officials. Though he was rushed to Capital Health Regional Medical Center via ambulance shortly after the incident took place, he was declared deceased at the hospital.
Police say citations may be pending as an investigation remains ongoing and is being handled by law enforcement officials. In the interim, officers asked any witnesses to come forward right away.
