Gloucester City, NJ (April 25, 2023) – Injuries were reported, according to officers with the Gloucester City Police Department, in a car crash that took place on Tuesday afternoon, April 25.
According to Gloucester City and West Deptford officials, the collision happened in the southbound lanes of I-295 near Route 44 at about 3:30 p.m.
The two cars were apparently involved in the rear-end or chain-reaction crash, which may have involved a third driver. Police say all of the vehicles were traveling in the middle southbound lanes when they collided approximately a mile ahead of the Route 44 exit.
Local emergency personnel, including paramedics and fire rescue units, arrived to help individuals in need. At least two injured victims, who have yet to be identified, were taken to local hospitals for care after the incident.
The investigation has uncovered nothing further in the interim, but GCPD officers are handling the inquiry going forward.
Our thoughts are now with the injured victims and their families. We hope for their complete recovery.
