Hackensack, NJ (August 3, 2024) – Early on Friday, August 2, a major traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Polifly Road and Route 80, involving a vehicle rollover and a downed electric pole with live wires.
Hackensack Fire Department units, including Engine 2, Rescue 1, and Deputy 3, responded to the scene around 7:00 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found a two-car collision with one vehicle overturned. The driver of the overturned vehicle had already self-extricated before the fire department’s arrival. Firefighters provided first aid and worked alongside the Hackensack Police Department (HPD) to secure the area.
One individual was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center. PSE&G was called to the scene to address the live electrical wires and ensure the area’s safety. There were no other reported injuries, but the crash remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims and their families in hopes of their full recovery.
Serious Car Accidents in New Jersey
Every day, dozens of people are injured or killed in vehicle accidents in New Jersey. Even though most of these collisions are mere “fender benders,” accident victims may suffer significant injuries. Moreover, 59,500 persons in New Jersey were injured in automobile-related incidents this year alone.
Serious car crashes may happen on any roadway, although they happen more often on heavily used thoroughfares and intersections. Moreover, a car accident may change your life forever and can happen in a second. But when you’ve been hurt in an accident that was not your fault, you can and should consult with an attorney who will advocate on your behalf.
The aftermath of a vehicle accident is difficult to handle on your own. Thankfully, experienced personal injury attorneys in New Jersey can help victims of car accidents navigate the complex legal system and construct the most compelling case possible on their client’s behalf. In addition, your lawyer may advise you on gathering evidence supporting your claim. The following elements must exist for your case to succeed: first, you and every other motorist are entitled to a reasonable “duty of care” or caution from other drivers. Next, an at-fault driver has violated this duty of care. From there, your crash occurred because the other motorist disregarded their duty of care. Finally, your injuries and other losses may be traced back to the accident as the primary cause.
