Hamilton Township, NJ (March 31, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a box truck collision that took place on a highway in Hamilton Township on Wednesday morning, March 30.
According to local officials, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike around 9:45 a.m. Several vehicles were traveling in the area at mile marker 54.2. A box truck suddenly lost control due to reasons that are not yet known, slamming into a passenger vehicle. The vehicles involved in the accident sustained damages as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Several victims sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes of traffic for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
New Jersey State Police continues its investigation into the accident at this time.
