Hammonton, NJ (May 6, 2022) – One person was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident that took place on a highway in Hammonton on Thursday night, May 5.
According to New Jersey State Police, the accident happened around 8 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the Atlantic City Expressway near the area of mile market 28. A motorcyclist was allegedly traveling in the area when their vehicle collided with a passenger vehicle due to reasons that are not yet known. The passenger vehicle overturned onto its side following the collision.
Paramedics and several other Hammonton responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has not yet been identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. It is not known if anybody else was hurt in the accident.
Police and fire crews blocked off a large portion of the highway as a result of the accident. They quickly worked to clear the scene.
At this time, Hammonton officials continue their investigation into the circumstances leading up to the accident.
