Jackson Township, NJ (June 10, 2024) – Ocean County officials are looking for a vehicle involved in a crash that left a bicyclist dead in Jackson Township on Sunday, June 9.
On Sunday around noon, Jackson Township officers were summoned to the area of Farmingdale Road for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a bicyclist. Upon investigating, officials discovered that a 2017 Audi A4 was traveling westbound on Farmingdale Road when it swerved to avoid a head-on collision with a red SUV. The Audi then swerved into the left lane to avoid the crash and struck the cyclist before hitting a tree.
The red SUV fled the scene and continued eastbound on Farmingdale Road, and officials confirmed that the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the incident. The driver of the Audi was transported to CentraState Medical Center and treated for minor injuries. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle that may have caused the crash is believed to be a red or maroon Hyundai. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office or the Jackson Township Police Department.
Our deepest condolences are extended to the loved ones of the deceased victim. Our thoughts go out to the injured victim and their loved ones in hopes of their full recovery.

Fortunately, the law may provide some remedies if an accident leads to the loss of a loved one. Contact an attorney who has handled situations similar to yours as soon as possible. If you want your legal team to have enough time to gather evidence, arrange the facts of your case, and build a sound claim on your behalf, it’s ideal to obtain legal counsel and skilled assistance as soon as possible. And, if any other parties are involved, like your insurance company or the other driver’s insurance company, your lawyer will handle all of it for you. An experienced attorney can negotiate with these other entities and will even communicate with your insurance company on an ongoing basis to inquire about coverage and your rightful compensation, including burial costs and medical bills, among other damages.
