Jackson Township, NJ (March 28, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a pedestrian crash that took place at an intersection in Jackson Township on Sunday night, March 27.
According to local officials, the accident happened around 8:23 p.m. at the intersection of Whitesville Road and South Hope Chapel Road. A teenage girl was walking in the area at the intersection when she started to cross the street. She was suddenly struck by a vehicle being operated by a 29-year-old driver from Manchester. It was reported that the teen was crossing the street at a shopping center. The driver allegedly stayed at the scene of the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian teen was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of serious head injuries by medical helicopter. Her current condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident continues.
