Common Injuries in Pedestrian Accidents in Jackson Township
Pedestrian accidents in Jackson Township can cause head injuries, broken bones, back and spinal injuries, soft tissue injuries, internal injuries, and emotional trauma. These injuries can affect how a person walks, works, sleeps, and handles daily tasks.
Head injuries are common after a pedestrian crash. A person may suffer a concussion or other head trauma after hitting the vehicle, pavement, or another surface. Symptoms such as dizziness, confusion, nausea, or headaches should receive prompt medical attention.
Broken bones can also occur when a vehicle strikes a pedestrian. Legs, arms, hips, ribs, and wrists may suffer fractures during the impact or fall. These injuries often require emergency care, follow-up appointments, and physical therapy.
Back and spinal injuries can create long-term problems after a pedestrian accident. A sudden impact can strain muscles, damage discs, or affect nerves. Even mild back pain should be checked by a doctor to rule out more serious harm.
Soft tissue injuries may affect the neck, shoulders, knees, and ankles. These injuries can cause swelling, stiffness, and reduced movement. Early treatment can help reduce pain and support a safer recovery.
Internal injuries can also happen after a pedestrian crash. These injuries may not show clear signs right away, but they can become dangerous without treatment. Doctors can use exams and imaging tests to identify hidden trauma.
Severe pedestrian injuries can create major financial stress for victims and families. Medical bills, missed work, therapy, and travel for treatment can add up quickly. When children are involved, families may also need long-term medical guidance and added support.
A New Jersey pedestrian accident lawyer can help injured victims understand what compensation may be available. A lawyer can review medical records, crash reports, and insurance coverage. They can also handle communication with insurers while victims focus on healing.
