Jenkintown, PA (July 2, 2022) – On Friday evening, July 1, a two-alarm home fire in Montgomery County killed one person and wounded many firemen, according to official reports.
Multiple reports were received just before 8:00 p.m. about a fire in the 200 block of Summit Avenue in Jenkintown.
Officers and firemen saw heavy flames on the first and second levels of the three-story duplex, according to authorities. They were informed that a person was missing inside. The unconscious individual was discovered by firefighters on the second story of the structure. Shortly afterwards, despite life-saving attempts, the victim succumbed to their injuries and smoke inhalation at a local hospital.
Officials from Jenkintown said that inhabitants of the next property escaped unharmed.
