Motorcycle Collisions in Pennsylvania
Motorcycle accidents consistently rank among Pennsylvania’s worst traffic collisions each year. The consequences may be catastrophic on busy thoroughfares or highways in densely populated places like Philadelphia and its suburbs. Tragically, the death toll from motorcycle accidents is disproportionately high.
Motorcycle accidents in Pennsylvania had a mortality rate up to 30 times greater than other types of vehicle incidents, according to a new study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). One of the most challenging aspects of recovering from an accident-related injury is proving the other party’s negligence. Insurance companies are notorious for doing all they can to pay as little as possible once a claim has been filed.
Because they lack several protections found in standard vehicles, motorcycles rank high on the list of potentially dangerous modes of transportation. Moreover, motorcycle riders who are in these accidents often suffer severe or even fatal injuries. You should see a Philadelphia injury attorney without delay if you were harmed in a motorcycle accident that wasn’t your fault or if you lost a loved one in a crash.
