Lawrence Township, NJ (June 2, 2023) – On Thursday, a major accident involving two vehicles at a petrol station resulted in the death of an 18-year-old woman from Mercer County.
According to authorities, the crash happened at noon in Lawrence Township, near the intersection of Brunswick Pike (Route 1) and Franklin Corner Road. The police report that a collision between a dump truck and a vehicle damaged a petrol pump at a nearby Shell station and resulted in the death of the vehicle’s driver.
The dump truck driver only sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries and did not require hospitalization.
The police investigation forced the closure of Route 1 southbound in the region, though the cause of the accident has yet to be determined. Officer Thomas Everist with the Lawrence Township Police Department requested that any witnesses contact him.
Our deepest condolences go out to the deceased woman’s loved ones. Our thoughts are also with the injured victim in hopes of their complete recovery.
