Leacock Township, PA (August 16, 2023) – A three-car accident in Lancaster County sent nine individuals, including a child, to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon, August 16.
The collision occurred in the 3000 block of Old Philadelphia Pike/Route 340 in Leacock Township at around 1:10 p.m.
One of the vehicles was reportedly transitioning from Philadelphia Pike when it was rear-ended and forced into the opposing lane of traffic, as reported by law enforcement. Officers with the Leacock Township Police Department say the driver then collided with an SUV in the opposite direction, causing the first car to flip onto its side.
No one was seriously hurt, though all victims were transferred to a local medical center. Their current conditions are still unknown.
The road closure on Old Philadelphia Pike lasted about an hour while police conducted their investigation, which remains ongoing.
We would like to extend our thoughts to the injured victims and their loved ones at this time.
Multi-Driver Accidents in Pennsylvania
According to traffic experts, at least one thousand people are killed or seriously wounded in vehicle accidents in Pennsylvania every year. While victims were located across the state, these numbers illustrate the disproportionate number of fatalities in and around Philadelphia and other significant metropolitan centers.
The roads and highways of the United States are dangerous places, and tragedies may happen at any moment. Unfortunately, irresponsible driving is a serious issue throughout the country, including in Pennsylvania.
If you or a loved one have been injured or killed in a car accident, you may be at a loss for what to do next. Dealing with the shock of an accident and the pain of injuries is awful enough without also having to worry about how you’ll pay for things like medical treatment, vehicle repairs, missed income, and more.
By retaining legal representation, victims are able to focus on their recovery while still fighting for the justice and financial restitution to which they are due. An experienced and seasoned personal injury lawyer can help you collect the evidence and submit your claim in a timely manner after an accident. Having competent and caring legal representation after a vehicle accident might be crucial.
