Manchester, NJ (June 7, 2024) – On June 5, authorities reported that a 22-year-old man sustained critical injuries in a collision involving two SUVs on Route 70 in Manchester.
According to Manchester police, the collision occurred at approximately 11:25 p.m. near milepost 34.5 when a 61-year-old man traveling west in his SUV crossed over to the eastbound side to pass other vehicles, hitting another SUV driven by a 22-year-old man. The SUVs then collided virtually head-on, even though both drivers attempted to avoid the collision by swerving toward the eastbound shoulder, police say.
The second driver’s eastbound SUV spun out clockwise and collided with a tree due to the collision. The 22-year-old male victim, who resides in East Windsor, was transported to a local hospital, where he is currently in critical but stable condition. The 61-year-old man, a resident of the Browns Mills area, suffered only minor injuries and declined medical attention. However, the investigation into the crash remains ongoing, and no other details were provided.
