Mansfield, NJ (May 21, 2022) – On Friday, May 20th, a 6-year-old boy riding a dirt bike was admitted to the hospital after he was hit by a truck pulling a horse trailer in Burlington County.
The crash took place at about 6:30 p.m. on Mount Pleasant Road in the area of Gaunts Bridge Road in Mansfield.
According to a township police report, the truck was heading eastbound on Mount Pleasant Road when the child was struck by the trailer’s rear fender, ejecting him from his bike.
He received treatment for his injuries on the scene until paramedics arrived. He was then transported to a hospital in Trenton.
Township police declined to comment on the victim’s condition except to say that he was still alive.
The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the cause of this incident.
