Monroe Township, NJ (July 21, 2024) – New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan stated that troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash at 12:45 a.m. on the New Jersey Turnpike northbound in Monroe Township on Saturday, July 20.
Based on a preliminary investigation, two tractor-trailers were traveling north when they were involved in a collision near milepost 73. After the collision, one of the tractors caught fire. Fire rescue units were able to extinguish the flames within the hour. EMTs also responded and assessed an unknown number of victims for injuries.
