North Belle Vernon, PA (November 11, 2023) – The eastbound lanes of I-70 in North Belle Vernon were shut down for several hours on Thursday evening, November 9, after a serious car crash.
After a two-car collision that left three persons injured, authorities shut down the affected lanes.
Westmoreland County dispatchers received a report about a collision in the eastbound lanes at Exit 42A around 10:00 p.m. on Thursday. Officials say that two persons were airlifted by helicopter to local hospitals, while a third was driven there in an ambulance. One of the casualties was a child, who was transported to UPMC Children’s Hospital.
The inquiry is being handled by the Belle Vernon post of the Pennsylvania State Police. No further details were released in the meantime.
