Philadelphia, PA (August 29, 2026) – A 48-year-old pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Philadelphia on Thursday, August 27. The wreck happened around 1:40 a.m. in the 5500 block of Rising Sun Avenue.
Surveillance footage showed one approaching vehicle stop shortly before another vehicle traveled around it and struck the pedestrian.
As reported by the Philadelphia Police Department, the driver continued traveling after the crash. Investigators described the vehicle as a green 2023 to 2026 Kia Sportage X9 with black and chrome rims. It was last seen turning east onto Tabor Avenue.
The pedestrian died following the collision.
