Pedestrian Accidents in Pennsylvania
Pedestrians are some of the most at-risk parties on our roads in Pennsylvania. Major cities are, unfortunately, a hotspot for pedestrian accidents. Children are some of the most likely parties to become involved in these accidents due to the fact that they are not aware of the dangers of our roads. In 2019, it is estimated that approximately 1,584 pedestrians were hit by cars in just Philadelphia. Out of these accidents, approximately 28 pedestrians lost their lives. Having a child sustain serious injuries in a pedestrian accident might be one of the most difficult things that you have ever faced. This is especially true if you know that another party is entirely at fault for the injuries that your loved one sustained. If you have been hurt in a pedestrian crash, you should have the help of an attorney on your side.
Nobody is ever fully prepared to face the aftermath of a pedestrian accident on their own. The truth is, many drivers try to pin the blame of a pedestrian accident on the actual pedestrian involved. They might say that the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk or they were wearing dark clothing. When you are facing injuries, you will want to ensure that a liable party is held liable for their role in your accident. Some of the most severe injuries that stem from pedestrian accidents include the following:
- Spinal cord injuries
- Road rash
- Traumatic brain injuries
- Organ damage
- Fractures
If you have been hurt in a life-altering pedestrian accident, you should speak with a Philadelphia pedestrian accident lawyer that you can rely on.
