Philadelphia, PA (January 10, 2022) – At 7:39 p.m. on the evening of Sunday, January 9, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred in Philadelphia.
Philadelphia officials confirmed that the crash happened at 400 West Sedgley Avenue. An adult female pedestrian was walking in the area when the pedestrian started to cross the street. Suddenly, she was struck by a maroon Subaru that was traveling in the area. The driver of the passenger vehicle remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead due to traumatic injuries. It is not believed that anyone else was hurt in the accident.
Due to the severity of the accident, a portion of the roadway was blocked for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
