Philadelphia, PA (April 11, 2022) – One person was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident involving a train in Philadelphia on Monday afternoon, April 11.
According to officials, the accident happened around 5 p.m. at the Queen Lane Station. A SEPTA train was traveling in the area when a pedestrian started to cross the tracks due to reasons that are not yet known. The train conductor was unable to stop the train in time and struck the pedestrian as it was passing through the station.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.
The area was blocked at the station for an extended period of time. Police confirmed that service on the Chestnut Hill West Line was suspended for some time until the scene was cleared.
