Philadelphia, PA (May 27, 2022) – Injuries reportedly transpired in the aftermath of a car accident involving multiple cars on a Philadelphia-area highway Friday evening, May 27.
According to authorities from the Philadelphia Police Department, the incident took place at about 8:10 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 76 at Exit 346 to University Avenue and Vare Avenue. When the accident occurred, many cars that were merging into the left lanes were involved, and the chain reaction that occurred may have been sparked by the stop-and-go traffic that was approaching University Avenue.
Emergency medical technicians and first responders were sent to the scene of the collision in order to provide medical assistance to the wounded individuals. Two persons were reportedly taken to various medical centers in the area for treatment.
Because of the severity of the collision, several lanes in the area had to be shut down for a period of time.
There has been no more information provided. The investigation into the events leading up to the wreck is still underway at this point.
We are sending our most heartfelt thoughts and wishes to the wounded victims in the hopes that they may make a complete recovery.
