Philadelphia, PA (April 29, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from a severe tractor-trailer collision that took place on a major roadway in Philadelphia on Thursday night, April 28.
According to local officials, the accident happened at 9 p.m. on PA-206 around the area of Atison Road. The driver of an SUV was traveling in the area when it collided with a tractor-trailer due to reasons that are not entirely known. Both of the vehicles collided so forcefully that they were sent off the side of the road and into the woods. The vehicles involved in the accident sustained severe damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the SUV was trapped in their vehicle and had to be extricated by fire crews. They were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, though their condition is not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in several lanes of traffic for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could return to normal.
