This evening, a two-vehicle crash in Center City sent an ambulance into a building. Police and fire departments responded to Broad and Race Streets around 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
It’s unclear what caused the crash or if anyone was inside the building.
While investigators worked to complete the on-scene part of the investigation and examined the circumstances behind the incident, all but one lane of traffic was shut down.
The victims’ names have not been revealed, and the current state of any injured victims is also unclear. EMTs reportedly sent at least two to three people to an area hospital.
The investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing, per the Philadelphia Police Department.
Our thoughts are now with the injured person and their family. We wish them a complete recovery.
Multi-Vehicle Collisions in Pennsylvania
Throughout the span of 2020 alone, there were approximately 104,475 reportable traffic accidents in Pennsylvania. These incidents resulted in the deaths of 1,129 people and left another 61,248 people with minor, moderate, or serious injuries.
Though accident numbers are trending down, on the whole, these motor vehicle wrecks can turn a victim’s life upside down, regardless of its cause or severity.
For countless reasons, it is critical that victims retain a skilled attorney so that they begin their investigation as soon as possible after suffering serious injuries in a preventable wreck. Eyewitnesses must be interviewed, images of the site and car taken, and other evidence must be gathered. The longer you wait, the more difficult it will be to source evidence, such as security films from surrounding establishments, to support your case.
Adding insult to injury, an insurance provider can and will depreciate or undervalue your accident claim. Emotions can run high if the accident was not your fault and insurers are not cooperating.
However, it’s important to ensure you have the necessary evidence and facts. If you were injured in a car accident, explore your legal options by speaking with an experienced Philadelphia car accident attorney. They will guide you through the legal process and aid you in recovering compensation for damages.
