Fatal Pedestrian Crashes in Philadelphia
Compared to those in vehicles, the risk of injury or death for pedestrians on U.S. roads and sidewalks is much higher. Philadelphia and Pittsburgh are two excellent examples in this respect. Due to the increased foot traffic, cities and other densely populated areas in the Commonwealth are more prone to similar events. According to official projections and traffic experts, about 140 pedestrians died in Pennsylvania vehicle accidents in 2020.
