Phillipsburg, NJ (June 19, 2025) – On Thursday at approximately 4:45 p.m., a Phillipsburg resident was the victim of a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of State Highway 57 and County Road 519 in Lopatcong Township.
According to a New Jersey Investigative Crash Report, a Phillipsburg area resident driving a 2016 white Jeep Cherokee was traveling north through the intersection of Route 519 and Route 57 when a westbound 2023 white Cascadia Freightliner truck with Illinois plates failed to obey a traffic control device, resulting in a collision with the Cherokee.
EMTs responded shortly thereafter, but it’s unclear how many people were hurt. However, the investigation into what happened is ongoing, and witnesses were asked to contact area officers.
Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims and their families. We hope for their full recovery.
