Why Wrong-Way Crashes Can Lead to Fatal Injuries in Pittsburgh
Wrong-way crashes are among the most dangerous types of highway accidents because they frequently result in head-on impacts. Vehicles traveling in opposite directions have little time to react, and the combined speed of both cars greatly increases the force of the crash.
Major roadways like the Parkway West can become especially hazardous when a driver enters lanes incorrectly. These situations often unfold suddenly, leaving little opportunity for drivers to avoid a collision.
In these accidents, injuries often include head trauma, internal injuries, broken bones, and severe chest or spinal damage. Survivors may require emergency hospital care and ongoing medical treatment.
Recovery can involve long-term follow-up and rehabilitation. Some injuries may also worsen over time, requiring additional monitoring or care.
After a fatal crash, families and injured drivers may have questions about medical bills, insurance coverage, and available next steps. Keeping hospital records, towing documents, and official reports organized can help clarify what happened and support future decisions.
Organized information can also make it easier to communicate with insurers and medical providers as the process continues.
An attorney can look over the circumstances of a crash and help explain what steps may be available. Legal guidance can also clarify insurance questions and outline what forms of compensation might apply based on the details involved.
