Fatal Vehicle Crashes in Pennsylvania
Accidents involving automobiles, trucks, motorcycles, and buses happen daily in the Garden State. Thousands of individuals are tragically killed or wounded every year in these incidents, despite efforts by the government, automakers, and traffic experts to promote safe driving.
Car accidents in Pennsylvania are a leading source of death and serious injury. Over 128,000 accidents were reported to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in 2018, according to its figures. Injuries from these accidents totaled 78,000. More than 4,500 were seriously hurt, while another 33,500 were wounded but not seriously. PennDOT also documented alcohol-related collisions in 2018, in addition to fatal crashes. At least one driver in around 331 car accidents had a BAC over the legal limit of.08%.
Increases in traffic accidents occur despite better car and road safety, posing a threat to all drivers.
