Sharon, PA (June 8, 2025)— A 73-year-old man from Hermitage died after being hit by a vehicle in Sharon on Saturday evening, June 7.
Emergency responders were called to the intersection of East State Street and Buhl Boulevard shortly after 9:30 p.m. following reports of a pedestrian struck by a car, according to Sharon police.
The victim, later identified as Robert Porterfield by Mercer County Coroner John Libonati on Monday, was rushed to Sharon Regional Medical Center with severe injuries but did not survive. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
