Injury Auto Accidents in the Philadelphia Area
Automobile accidents are the leading cause of emergency department visits and hospitalizations in Pennsylvania. Even worse, these misfortunes may befall almost anywhere in the Commonwealth, and they often occur in the blink of an eye.
Densely populated areas and vast urban centers, on the other hand, are two of the most prevalent locations for serious traffic accidents. In just the most recent year, close to 11,990 major traffic crashes took place in and around the region of Philadelphia County.
Intentionally or accidentally exceeding the speed limit to keep up with the flow of traffic is a significant cause of automotive accidents. Many speeding tickets are made by adults on their way to work or an event. It’s easy to blame youthful drivers who aren’t paying attention or who are racing. As velocity increases, drivers lose control. When a motorist is speeding, he or she cannot adapt correctly to changing road conditions or the activities of other vehicles.
Speed is often recognized as a significant factor in accidents. Even if it is not the primary cause, it exacerbates the effects of other risky driving practices. This is partially attributable to sociocultural changes. The nation’s workforce has continued to migrate their homes farther out from urban centers, and reliance on automobiles as opposed to public transit has increased, resulting in lengthier commute times.
