Warren Township, NJ (November 7, 2024) – Two men were fatally hit by a car while changing a tire on their van on the shoulder of Interstate 78 in Warren Township on Wednesday, November 6.
At 5:30 p.m., troopers with the New Jersey State Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Interstate 78 westbound, at milepost 38.7, in Warren Township. Based on a preliminary investigation, a Toyota minivan with a flat tire was stopped on the right shoulder, said Sgt. Charles Marchan.
A Mercedes passenger vehicle then entered the right shoulder, hit the rear of the Toyota and guardrail, and hit two male pedestrians, added Marchan. In the interim, anyone with information relating to this fatal accident is asked to contact the Warren Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit, which is handling the ongoing investigation into the incident. No further details were released at this time.
