West Chester, PA (June 20, 2023) – West Chester police said five persons were hurt in a two-car collision on Downingtown Pike on Sunday, June 18.
A car collision on Downingtown Pike at McCardle Drive in East Bradford Township at about 4:00 p.m. prompted the deployment of the West Chester Fire Department, local EMTs, and the West Chester Police Department.
The apparent head-on collision between two drivers on Downingtown Pike between West Ashbridge Street and Miles Road caused the road to be blocked for several hours.
When the firefighters arrived, they found three persons trapped inside the automobiles. Paramedics and other first responders worked to rescue those victims and subsequently transferred five patients to area hospitals. At this point, it is unclear how seriously injured anybody is.
Police in West Chester are now looking into the incident. No further details have been provided in the meantime.
