Philadelphia, PA (July 20, 2026) – A cyclist was critically hurt Sunday night, July 19, after a driver struck him and drove away in Philadelphia’s Kensington section.
The crash happened around 8:47 p.m. near Jasper Street and E. Tioga Street, according to police. A driver in a 2026 white Honda Pilot ran a red light while heading southbound through the intersection, striking a man riding his bike eastbound on E. Tioga Street.
The driver left the area immediately afterward. Emergency units took the injured man to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in extremely critical condition. His identity has not been released.
Around midnight, police say the driver returned to a police station in the same vehicle sought in connection with the collision and is now cooperating with investigators. No charges in this incident have yet been announced
