Lower Makefield Township, PA (May 29, 2023) – A two-car collision on Monday afternoon left several individuals hurt, one seriously, in Bucks County.
Stony Hill Road, just south of the Newtown Bypass (Route 332), was the scene of an accident that prompted the arrival of Lower Makefield Township police around 1:30 p.m.
Based on their preliminary investigation, police have concluded that a male driver of a Mini Cooper turned onto Stony Hill Road from a local business complex. Officers with the Lower Makefield Township Police Department say that, shortly thereafter, the Mini Cooper collided with a northbound BMW SUV on Stoney Hill Road. The BMW reportedly flipped over after being struck.
Township police stated five persons were in the BMW, and two were thrown from the car. Three other rescues occurred in the aftermath.
The driver of the Mini Cooper received medical attention at the scene. Additional EMTs rushed to the incident and transferred all passengers in the SUV to a local hospital. A fifth victim was airlifted to Temple Hospital and remains in severe condition.
Police from Lower Makefield and the county’s accident unit are investigating the incident and have not said whether citations are pending.
The injured victims and their families are in our thoughts, and we hope for their full recovery.
