Manchester, NJ (January 9, 2022) – Around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, January 8, a serious car accident occurred on a major roadway in Manchester.
Manchester Police confirmed that the collision happened on NJ-37 around the area of Colonial Drive. According to officials, the accident involved a 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis and a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado. The Grand Marquis was stopped at a red light when it was suddenly struck by a Colorado due to reasons that are not entirely known. This caused the driver of the Colorado to become partially ejected from the vehicle.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The driver of the Chevy, identified only as a 30-year-old woman from Browns Mills, was partially ejected and taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with serious injuries. She has since been listed in stable condition. The driver of the Mercury, identified as a 38-year-old woman, was also taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries and is expected to be okay.
Due to the severity of the accident, a portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for some time.
