Marmora, NJ (April 2, 2022) – One person was killed in a fatal car accident that took place on a roadway in Marmora on Saturday afternoon, April 2.
According to Marmora Police, the accident happened around 1:15 p.m. on Tuckahoe Road around the area of Church Road and Butler Road. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. One of the vehicle’s engines caught on fire. Both vehicles were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person was trapped inside their vehicle and had to be extricated by fire crews. One person was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to their injuries. Two people were hospitalized with unknown injuries.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes for approximately five hours as police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues. Police will update with more information as it is available.
