Montague, NJ (October 4, 2023) – State Police confirmed on Monday that a 20-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in an accident in Sussex County over the weekend.
Around 5:20 p.m., the man was riding his Yamaha motorcycle south on Route 23 in Montague when he was involved in a collision with a Chrysler Pacifica that was making a lefthand turn. Detective I Jeffrey Lebron of the New Jersey State Police said officials responded to the site of the accident on Sunday, October 1.
Per Lebron, the Highland Lakes man was flung from his motorcycle and died at the scene, just before the area near milepost 52. It’s unknown if the other driver was hurt in the collision.
There is no further information available, and the collision is still being investigated. Witnesses were asked to get in touch with New Jersey State Police.
