Morton, PA (April 6, 2023) – Two people were hurt in a multi-car accident that took place on I-95 near Pennsylvania Highway 420 on Thursday evening, April 6.
Local officials stated that the accident happened around 9:50 p.m. on northbound Interstate 95 near Pennsylvania Highway 420 in Philadelphia.
At least two motorists were driving in the center-right lanes of the roadway before colliding in an apparent side-swipe wreck. Significant damage affected all vehicles involved, and news footage showed two passenger cars on the shoulder with front-end and rear-end damage.
To assist all individuals in need, Philly EMTs, in conjunction with other local responders, were summoned to the crash site. Two persons were brought to area hospitals for treatment, though the injured victims have not yet been identified. At this time, their conditions also remain unknown.
For a lengthy period of time, up to an hour and a half, the wreck obstructed the roadway. However, Philadelphia Police officers worked rapidly to clear the area and complete the on-scene portion of their investigation.
Our thoughts go out to the injured victims and their families at this time.
Injuries in Pennsylvania Multi-Vehicle Wrecks
Every year, tens of thousands of individuals in Pennsylvania are hospitalized due to car accidents. Regrettably, over the course of 2020, traffic researchers reported that approximately 61,250 suffered serious injuries in Pennsylvania car accidents throughout the Commonwealth, even as the coronavirus pandemic limited traffic on our state’s roadways.
Even in light of the fact that most car accidents can be avoided, these incidents still occur in the blink of an eye, affecting innocent victims and their families. From driver distraction to DUI and beyond, negligent motorists cause these often-preventable collisions in droves.
