Philadelphia, PA (August 17, 2026) – On Sunday night, August 16, a tow truck struck and killed a pedestrian on 26th Street and Penrose Avenue.
The man was crossing the intersection around 9 p.m. when a black tow truck struck him, according to Philadelphia Police. The truck did not stop and continued west on Penrose Avenue afterward.
Emergency units took the man to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators continue working to identify the driver responsible for the crash.
